Emerald State High School ceremony this morning highlighted an outstanding group of
young students in leadership roles who made an Affirmation of Office which in part read “I promise to lead by good example, participate in the full life of the school and to enhance our best tradition. I promise to conduct myself in a manner which always brings credit upon myself, my school and my family.” I thought that as I approach this Election that it is so relevant to replace the word school with Council and that would be a worthy oath that all councillors might take.
